What is
Artificial intelligence? It is the intelligence
exhibited by machines or software. It is an academic field of study
which studies the goal of creating intelligence.
The prospect of machines or and software is changing society through new
generations’ with new technology. Many people fear of artificial intelligence.
May the fear come from the ridiculous concept of robots taking over the world
movies or the concept of machines simply being smarter than the man who put it together? Why are machines created in the
first place? Large companies like Microsoft and Apple created computers and
phones to make our daily lives easier. For instance, a century ago the only way
you would get the latest news was through listening to the radio, or going home
and watching the 6 o’clock news. Now a day, you lean about current events
through just looking at your phone and you have social media that gives you
news in an instant. The concept of machines or software
being far more intelligent than the person who created it is surprising to
others but what else could you aspect. Isn’t that why we create these computers
and tablets? That way we could relaxed while software creates graphs and tables
for us. Many would say the intelligence of these machines cause the new
generation to become lazy. When they don’t know an answer to a problem it is
easy to just look it up. Some people would say that they would be able to learn
from knowing the answer but if you are always given the answer and quickly
people tend to just turn to their devices all the time especially young adults. Now do you think artificial intelligence in modern society is
a good thing? Having devices that educate people with information quickly and
efficiently and providing millions of software that help people with homework
and projects is a great phenomenon. These devices are also improving over the
years. We should be thankful for the machines and software we have today.
